Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. This page lists every cookie ciaranmcintyre.com sets and what it’s for. For everything else the site collects, see the Privacy Policy.

theme

Remembers whether you prefer light or dark mode. Set by this site, kept for one year.

_ga and _ga_*

Set by Google Analytics to tell visits apart, so I can count visitors and see which pages they read. Kept for up to two years.

Session storage

Not a cookie, but close: for the length of your visit, the site remembers whether analytics should run, so it doesn’t check again on every page.

There are no advertising, social media or tracking cookies beyond these.

• Every browser lets you block or delete cookies in its settings. The site works fine without them.
• To opt out of Google Analytics everywhere, use Google’s opt-out add-on.

If the site starts using a new cookie, I’ll add it here and update the date at the top.
